CoCo Key - Fitchburg

Horizon provided complete design assist services to construct a 55,000 square foot water resort addition and hotel renovation at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Fitchburg.  The resort includes water slides, adventure river, play structure, indoor/outdoor spa, and authentic Key West theming.  Construction was completed on budget and was turned over 11 weeks earlier than the contract date.  The project encountered difficult site conditions consisting of ledge rock, glacial till, and boulders.  Site crews performed blasting and over excavated unsuitable material.  Due to the complexity of the sitework, Horizon worked with the site contractor and negotiated an unclassified site in order to protect the owner.  When the project was completed, Horizon returned $175,000 savings back to the owner.
