In July 2003, Horizon was approached as a total source solution firm and partnered with several designers and architects including Architectural Design Consultants, Inc. (ADCI), Water Technology, Inc. and Neuman Pools, Inc. This partnership began the design and creation of a resort hotel and waterpark in Rothschild, Wisconsin. Horizon's role was the design/ build contractor.
Horizon handled the entire project from start to finish, from design coordination through the final construction using our 9-step process.
In our partnership with ADCI and Water Technology we were able to focus on designing the technical layout of the slides and pools, and have the branded support to match the project.
In June 2004, the Lodge at Cedar Creek finished ahead of schedule and under budget. The all-suite hotel includes 140 one-, two- and three-bedroom suites able to accommodate families up to 14 persons. The central lobby includes a full service restaurant and bar, arcade, gift shop and outdoor pavilion. To top it off the beautiful resort hotel includes a 50,000 square foot indoor waterpark.
The indoor water resort includes themed rides like "The Cedar Creek Tree House" featuring an 800- gallon tipping bucket, "Timber Twisters", which consists of two snaking enclosed tube slides that meander inside and outside the waterpark, the "Powder Keg Puddle", an interactive kiddie water-play area, and "Sasquatch", a massive tube and plunge slide. Other waterpark features include a lazy river ride, activity pool with basketball and log rolling, zero depth pool and whirlpools.
