New affordable housing property opens in Madison

MADISON (WKOW) — A new affordable housing development is now open in Madison.

Harmony at Grandiew Commons at 116 Milky Way on the city’s east side features 94-ready to move in apartments.

The housing community was made possible from donations made by WHEDA and UnitedHealthcare. The property features amenities like many apartment communities; a fitness center, a playground for kids and a community clubhouse.

“80 percent of health actually happens outside of the Doctor’s Office,” said Ellen Sexton, CEO of UnitedHealthcare. “And I can tell you first hand working with my Medicaid beneficiaries, the diabetic that struggled to keep his insulin at the right temperature because he didn’t have reliable housing.”

Some of the units have already been rented out. For more information on leasing information, call ACC Management Group at (608) 576-6212
