Daniel D. Fitzgerald is a principal, CEO of Horizon Develop Build Manage and President of the development and construction divisions. With Horizon since 1999, Dan also leads the business development efforts and has been involved in many of Horizon's residential, commercial and hospitality projects.
Curt joined Horizon in 2015. As the company’s CFO, he oversees all company accounting functions, while maintaining high production and quality standards for all accounting operations. In addition, he is responsible for the company’s financial relationships and determining the financial feasibility of investment opportunities and overseeing the closing process for debt and equity.
Becky joined Horizon in 1999 and became an owner/partner in 2015.
As President, she is responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Horizon’s entire portfolio by effectively overseeing the managers, and ensuring the buildings operate effectively and efficiently, and within budget.
Prior to becoming Vice President, Becky worked as a Compliance Specialist, Compliance Manager, Director of Compliance, Director of Operations and Vice President of Horizon Mangement Services.
With over 24 years of experience in all trades of construction, E. Jay Gering is a Principal and Vice President of Construction, working with superintendents and project managers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that Horizon’s services are accomplished in a professional, safe and timely manner. He takes a collaborative approach to construction, troubleshooting and resolving project issues as they arise to help maintain budgets and schedules. E. Jay understands and addresses different stake-holder agendas to deliver successful projects that maintain high quality standards.
Ryan Alvin, Principal and Vice President of Construction, oversees all of the firms budgeting, pre-construction and project management services. Ryan leads the project team in attaining budget requirements, ensuring a competitive buyout process and supporting all of the project managers who report to him. He assists clients from the conceptual development stage with early cost-estimating, phasing and site logistics expertise, through final construction, making sure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.
Scott Kwiecinski joined Horizon in 2003 and serves in a leadership and project management role on Horizon’s development team. Scott works on a variety of affordable and conventionally financed housing projects in Wisconsin and Iowa and has closed nearly 400 units in the past 4 years. Many of these were with non-profit and for-profit partners that wish to advance affordable housing options in the communities they serve.
Dana joined Horizon in 2004 became an owner/partner in 2015. As Director of Shared Services, Dana provides leadership, planning and management for the development, acquisition, implementation and support of human resources, information technology, support services, marketing and training/development for the company. Her previous work experience includes safety and labor relations, employee relations and recruitment at TDS Telecom. Dana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources from Upper Iowa University and PHR certification.
Mick Hintz, Principal and Director of Pre-Construction Services, oversees the firms estimating and pre-construction services. With over 27 years of industry experience in both development and construction, Mick leads the company’s efforts in estimating, contract review, and design coordination for both internal and third-party development projects. His experience on a variety of project types allows him to assist clients from the initial concept phase and throughout the design.
Philip J. Schultz is a Principal Emeritus and former President of the Horizon residential and commercial divisions at our Milwaukee office. Phil joined Horizon in 1998 and became an owner/partner in 2002. Phil has been active in real estate development and construction since 1985 and specializes in the development of sustainable communities with an emphasis on senior and mixed use communities. Phil has developed and built over 2,800 units of senior housing.
John W. Thode, P. E., is a Principal Emeritus and formal Director of Quality Assurance & Development for Horizon. John joined Horizon in 1990, and in September of 1996 became an owner/partner of Horizon. He is responsible for overseeing the development and entitlement work in the residential, commercial and resort divisions.
John has incredible expertise in schedule, budget and cost control. He is exceptional at value engineering both hard and soft costs, and has been involved with the vision, concept and creation of older adult housing for over 20 years.
John K. Faust is a principal emeritus and former C.E.O. and C.F.O. of Horizon based in Madison, Wisconsin. John joined Horizon in November of 1995, and in September of 1996 became an owner/partner of Horizon. Since joining Horizon the company has developed more than 3500 residential units and constructed in excess of $550 million in real estate. Prior to joining Horizon, John was Treasurer of Heartland Properties, Inc. and its affiliate Capital Square Financial Corp. in Madison.
Prior to retiring in 2011, Charles V. Heath was the C.E.O. of Horizon. As a Principal Emeritus, Chuck maintains a relationshipwith Horizon, acting as an advisor on strategic planning and business development. Horizon was founded by Chuck in 1984 asa real estate development company. Today, Horizon has grown todesign, build and manage commercial, retail, residential, industrial real estate and indoor water resorts. Under Chuck’s leadership, the Company successfully developed property valued at more than $500 million.
