Soaring Eagle Waterpark & Hotel
Aspects of this project:
Horizon worked as the design-build general contractor on this project which included a 45,000 square foot waterpark and 243 key resort hotel. Upon completion in 2012, Soaring Eagle was the largest indoor water resort in the state of Michigan. Construction was completed in 12 months which was 2 months ahead of schedule. The project was finished under budget, and the savings returned to the client were used for upgrades and improvements throughout. Horizon designed the waterpark in a way that connected the Native American culture to themed elements such as symbols, landscape murals, and a museum quality tree sculpture. The waterpark, at over 1 acre in size, includes an elevated lazy river (3 stories), water climbing rock wall, water jumps, slides and obstacles.
