E. Jay Gering

Vice President of Construction

With over 24 years of experience in all trades of construction, E. Jay Gering is a Principal and Vice President of Construction, working with superintendents and project managers on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that Horizon’s services are accomplished in a professional, safe and timely manner. He takes a collaborative approach to construction, troubleshooting and resolving project issues as they arise to help maintain budgets and schedules. E. Jay understands and addresses different stake-holder agendas to deliver successful projects that maintain high quality standards.

E. Jay joined Horizon in 2005. He has managed large teams on numerous complex projects. His national experience ranges from retail, hospitality, restaurant and residential buildings, to industrial and food facilities. With a diverse portfolio of projects, along with his hands on experience, E. Jay can anticipate potential hurdles that allow Horizon to preemptively resolve construction matters that would affect project safety, schedule, quality and project budget.

As an active member in his community, E. Jay volunteers his leadership abilities in various roles. He is currently a member of the Mayville Athletic Booster Club, supporting athletic programs beyond the school district’s budget and coaching varsity soccer. He has also brought his project management expertise to the community by sitting as a Mayville Alderperson.

E. Jay has attended the Clemson University Supervisors Academy and Moraine Park Technical College. He holds his Journeyman Carpentry License and oversees job-site safety as a 100 OSHA Safety Technician and is CPR and First Aid Certified.
