Vice President of Construction
Ryan Alvin, Principal and Vice President of Construction, oversees all of the firms budgeting, pre-construction and project management services. Ryan leads the project team in attaining budget requirements, ensuring a competitive buyout process and supporting all of the project managers who report to him. He assists clients from the conceptual development stage with early cost-estimating, phasing and site logistics expertise, through final construction, making sure that the project gets completed on time and within budget.
Prior to joining Horizon in 2004, Ryan’s experience included roles as construction project manager, project estimator and project engineer. His years of experience in retail, residential, educational and industrial projects has given Ryan experience integrally working with public- and private-sector clients.
Ryan’s presence in the industry is bolstered by his involvement in numerous national organizations, including the Design Build Institute of America, Associated Builders and Contractors, Construction Management Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management with a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. His professional development includes certification in erosion control and forklift, skid loader and aerial lift operations. He has also continued his education in management, risk management and collaborative team training.
